Blackpool South

Yesterday we arrived at Blackpool South, where we did the washing and collected the Enterprise hire car - a Toyota Hybrid with 10 miles on the clock. Looks sort of funky.

Today we went to Tesco for Breakfast, then went to Grasmere to look around Wordsworth's Dove Cottage and Museum. We then stopped off at a farm shop on the way home - a lovely day.

Today we went to Shrewsbury (by mistake - we took the train in the wrong direction!).

We had a walk through Town, and took a river boat trip on The Sabrina. We had a light lunch at The Armoury.

Visit to Chester by Train

Today we took a train from Chirk Railway Station to Chester. Then we did a Big Bus tour of the city and £11.50 each, and had a nice meal in a Cafe. then we went on to explore and got a train back in time for an afternoon snooze!

It was good to see the remaining Roman Walls and Amphitheatre.

Walking along the Llangollen canal

One of us started with the group at the Chainbridge Hotel, the other other from the CC site - we met at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct!

We are in the Lady Margaret CC site near Chirk Castle - very pleasant!

Interesting sign!

On the road again

After a long holiday we are back on the road - van seems to be keeping well after a long neglect - it was washed and cleaned and we are now in Chapel Lane CC in Birmingham. Some teething problems,  The new Aldi £19.99 oven worked fine when turned on!

30 May 2016

All cleaned and ready!

Habitation check, and got the front bumper nicely repaired by The Caravan Medic.  A nice job was done, it is still a bit wonky but now does not have the scrape marks! We need to get a new microswitch in the shower, and get in date gas pipes (only just out of date).

We also went to Orwell Trucks at Martlesham to have the air bags positioned so that they were not rubbing on the springs. That was free.

Then a scrub and some Bobby Dazzler ... which took two days on and off. We need to do the interior and maybe the front needs to painted the Hymer Gold colour ....

Last weekend by the seaside! Kessingland

Spent the weekend by the sea with John and Linda - others came for Sunday Lunch at The Waterfront!

First night spent in The Sailors, and a Bacon Bap in the Tea Shop. A Blustery weekend - the Gulls seem to be much more noisy and landing on the roof these days!

Helen had a very large Veggie option - John and Linda joined us.

At the Beer Festival

Waiting for the steam train to Holt!

Nice day out with steam trains and beer! Both with small glasses in hand! It got very busy later on.

On the way home with the two pint take-away packs. We had fish and chips for supper at the site with JQ and D&D. All controlled by 2m Handhelds Amateur Radio.

At the North Norfolk beer festival at Sheringham

Just arrived at the station.

West Runton

Arrived here Thursday. Big storm last night, thunder and lightning!

Went to Cromer yesterday on the bus after a large breakfast for me, and a veggie curry for H. Walked round Cromer and saw the pier.

John and Linda arrived in the evening and found a spot next to us under the trees. Had small Pimms and G&T in the evening.... or two.

Rainy day by the sea at Kessingland

But went to the Waterside for lunch - the bottle of Rose proved to be the cause of a long afternoon sleep!

Bit grey but a nice view ......... of the sea.

Lowestoft for the day

Stopping off for a Latte at the Theatre. £3.80 for the Bus from the Sailor's Home at Kessingland. Lots of useless bargains bought in town, and food from M&S!

By the Seaside at Kessingland again

Here by the seaside at Kessingland White Beach again.

Only forgot the pillows, so not too bad a start! WiFi is working well, but the Oyster TV has lost lock again, it needs to be redone and search the skies.

We got seven new tyres, Michelin Agilis, for £60 each, not too bad. Thye got fitted by Stowmarket Fastfit who are used to us now. Also a full service at Mercedes Trucks at Martlesham. Now we are ready to chill by the sea for a few days ... and go to the pub of course!!

We got space number 3 overlooking the sea (which is just in the distance). Newspapers are ordered!!
